Back To Work

Went back to work today... Hmm... Not feeling as draggy as it used to. Guess the holidays had done its work, my batteries had been recharged. ^-^ Had a really happy and sweet holidays though I had done nothing much. Thanks to everyone for all the great time together...

Was grateful to my colleagues for helping me cover my work while I was not around. Things were either done or nicely put together for me. I need not spend too much efforts tidying things up. Thanks guys! Were really appreciated...

Hehehe... Did not go to Sentosa as I had told my superior. Anyway, no worries... Am planning on it. :p

My Handiworks

Lol... Stella went to school and wont be back till 5pm. My parents went to work. Left only Sara who was busy with her school work to bother with me. Nobody to nag at me... Hence... I decided to try my hands on cooking! Hehe... I decided on the dishes I want to cook from my cookbooks, then left to buy the ingredients from NTUC White Sands.

Initially wanted to finish everything before anyone came back but... Ren Suan Bu Ru Tian Suan... My dad was actually resting in his room. He caught me preparing the ingredients (chopping away on the long beans) and simply said, "You will cook the dinner tonight." OMG!

Alright alright, I will try my best. I liked my long bean fried egg best... Hehe... The chicken wings were too saltish, I think I marinated them for too long. As for the kailan, the sauce didnt thicken, put the wrong flour I believed... Hehe...

Never mind... Practice makes perfect! ;p

Xiao Long Baos

Met Pk at Tampines first before my sisters came and joined us for lunch. Had promised Sara to treat her to xiaolongbaos long ago, the promise finally materalised... We went to the Ding Tai Feng at Tampines Mall, where I ordered a basket of the steam pork xiaolongbaos and the steamed crab roe meat with pork xiaolongbaos, a plate of prawn fried rice and xiaogailan. Had a very quick lunch... Everyone was really hungry? Hope everyone enjoyed the lunch...

Returned home where Pk and I sorted out the stamps we had harvested. The next step was to keep them into their respective stamp albums. Will wait till another time... Putting them into their respective stamp albums is going to be hard work. So many stamps from so many countries...

Dad came back to cook dinner so Pk had home cooked dinner with us. He said the food was great. Glad that he enjoyed them... Those were the simple dishes that Dad cooked - Luncheon meat, fried eggs, garlic bai cai and ketchup prawns... Sometimes Dad will cook more fanciful dishes like Curry chicken, braised pork etc...

Girls Night Out

Met up with my girlfriends yesterday...

Met up with Mabel in Plaza Singapura at 1pm. She looked better and happier... Am so happy for her. :) Walked around Carrefour where she bought some snacks and stuffs. Then we went to TCC where we sat around for a drink and chat. Updated each other on our recent happenings, then we parted with each other at about 3pm. Hope that she enjoyed the time together as much as I do. ^-^

Then met up with Minghui, Xiumei and Winnie at Orchard Popular at 7pm. Hehe... I had added another 3 books to my collection. :p And the girls cant make up on their minds where to have our dinner. Thought initially via sms, they had already decided on Crystal Jade. Then suddenly ChongQin Steamboat popped out, Fish & Co popped out...

We eventually decided on Sakae Sushi... However the queue was simply too long... decided to jump queue to Fish & Co instead. Hehe... Ordered a Fish Platter for Two and all of us were full/bloated.

Tea

Arranged to have tea with Pk and Uncle...

Dropped down to Raffles City to have my lunch. Then took the free shuttle bus to GWC to buy the egg tarts, garlic peanuts, egg rolls... Then took another free shuttle to Orchard where I walked around a bit before popping onto Bus 36 down to Pk's house.

Met one of my colleagues while I was at GWC. He was pretty surprised to see me, "Sally? Why are you here?" Hehe... "I came to buy something..." Well well... Reached Pk's house not long after they returned from lunch. "So early?" It was not yet tea time and Uncle had not set up the equipment.

Tea was nice... Uncle took out his tea set to use. He said he finally had the chance to play around with his toys. Hehe... Am glad that Uncle and Pk liked the peanuts and egg tarts, they were worth the efforts. ^-^

Was chatting with Winnie in the morning how I missed their gathering and
she called me up then to tell me that the girls were gathering at Mei's place tonight. Sorry girls, I had already made other arrangements. Next time, can give me advance notice? Argggh... :x

We sat around and chat and watched SCV. Then went to this restaurant called Potluck in East Coast for dinner? I liked the fish most of all... :a Both Pk and Uncle said that the Claypot rice was not as nice as the ones from the stall in Chinatown. Hope to get the chance to try that one day...

Jurong Bird Park

Yesterday was the start of my one week leave... Initially, was worried that my boss would not approve. I wanted the break very much. Colleagues asked me whether I would be going overseas.

Nay... Joked that I wanted to go to Sentosa and having no money to hotel stay, going to buy a tent and camped there instead. Lol... Nay... Later, my superior joked further that I would pay a visit to Mandai Zoo and Jurong Bird Park as well. O.o How did you know...? Lol... Not the Zoo but the Bird Park...

Had a very fun day at the Jurong Bird Park. We stayed there for the whole day. Rained on and off, Pk and I shared an umbrella. :p Too lazy to open mine... Fed birds twice... Once at the Lory Loft and the other at the Waterfall Aviary.

Lory Loft was fun. The little lories flown to you and perched on your arm while they ate from the cup in your hand. One even perched on my shoulder. As Pk was standing near and busy taking photos of all these happenings, a couple perched on his shoulder too. Refused to leave for quite a while... Hehehe...

The one at Waterfall Aviary was scary... Fed worms. The birds dropped one worm on my hair and another on my sleeve! "Take it away from me! Take it away from me!" I was there screaming away. Pk said I turned green... :x Lucky me that he was too busy taking the worms off me to take the photos. Lol... No more feeding at Waterfall Aviary next time.

Simple Bliss

Met Pk for lunch at Zion Riverside Food Centre yesterday. We had fish porridge. The fish meat was fresh and we were given big pieces. Yum yum... :) Took the free shuttle bus to City Hall where we took the mrt train back to my house.

He helped me to 'wash' the stamps... His first time. We had fun... Sticking the stamps onto his hands and arms. Naughty Pk wanted to stick those wet stamps onto my cheeks and nose. :x Out of the whole big pack, I hope we had finished at least 1%?

Initially, we wanted to stay around the park after dinner at Downtown East but mosquitoes were buzzing around us. Hence, we retreated back to my house again. Lol... Dont want to 'donate' any more blood.

Maybe we were running out of topics to talk to each other... Nevertheless, I believed we enjoyed those sweet simple quiet moments together. It is each other's companionship and the feelings inside that matters most.

Lunch With Pk Family

I joined Pk and his family for a family lunch on Sunday... With his grandmother, father, 4 aunties and 2 brothers...

I went down to Pk's house and we left for the Saki Sakura Restaurant at Tampines Safara at 11am. Timing was just nice, his aunties and grandmother were parking their car while we parked ours. While waiting to go into the restaurant, Pk introduced me to his grandmother and aunties. We chatted and smilied throughout the lunch.

The food was good. I enjoyed the terrayaki chicken, peppered beef, ginger steam fish, satays, chicken soup... Hehe... I got to share the Japanese paper steamboat with 4th Aunt. ^-^ The durian puffs and mango pudding were very nice. I also had a great serving of ice cream - 3 big scoops of corn, apricot and chocolate chip ice cream! :a

Quality Versa Quantity

I saw this from television a few days ago... Have no time to ponder over it as I was busy with work during the weekdays. Took the chance now to think about it on quiet sunday morning...

The person featured on the show was an emergency department doctor. He was talking about his work and life... That included how he juggled his time between his work and family. Remembered that he said something like this, "Quality versa quantity... Without the enough quantity, how to have the quality?"

I think it is very true... I hereby take the chance to thank everyone who took the time to spend with me. Thanks... I treasure and cherish them. ^-^

Lunch At Gwc

Pk came down to have lunch at GWC with me. Happy happy happy... We had sliced fish soup and rice at the Zion Riverside Food Centre. Such a big bowl... He said, "Cannot give me rice huh. I had breakfast this morning..." :I So I be a good girl and finished everything up... :p

Then we went down to Chinatown and Bugis. Bought a black tourmaline anklet for Serene. Ling... You said you want a black tourmaline anklet, so I bought it for you as early birthday pressie. Hehe...

Saw an aquamarine bracelet while I was at OG Bugis... Though it was the pattern that I liked, the crystals were not shinny enough. Hmm... Maybe we were not meant for each other... I did not buy it.
