Coincidence or...
Heard from Grandaunt that one of the items needed for our customary wedding was a pair of old coconuts with their stalks attached. Dar Dar is a cantonese mah. Old coconut is 'Laoye', signifying Father-In-Law in cantonese 'Louye'.
Mum had been going to the Pasir Ris Beach for morning walk. Then one morning, she saw lots of coconuts. Think the National Park people had cut down the coconuts, some were already in black plastic bags to be collected away.
She came across a stalk of 2 brown coconuts. Hehe... Mum was thrilled. No longer need to worry about where to buy the coconuts. In the first place, we were not even sure that they can be bought. She happily brought it home.
Hehe... One thing less from our minds. :)
